Policy
Corrections Policy
How we correct mistakes, in a report or in the guidance published on this site.
PolicyUpdated 20 October 2026
We publish guidance about landlords’ electrical safety duties, and we issue reports that people rely on. Both need to be right, and both get corrected when they are not.
01
Errors in a report
If you believe your report contains a factual error, such as a wrong address, a circuit described incorrectly or a reading recorded against the wrong circuit, tell us and we will check it. Genuine errors are corrected and a revised report is issued free of charge.
02
Professional judgement
An observation code is a professional judgement, not a fact. If you disagree with one, we will explain the reasoning and reconsider it. If we still disagree, you are entitled to a second opinion, and we will share our findings with whoever you choose.
03
Errors on this website
If guidance here is wrong or out of date, tell us. We check it against the current legislation, BS 7671 and official guidance, and correct it. Where a correction is material, we note on the page what changed and when.
04
How quickly
- Website errors: corrected within 5 working days of being confirmed.
- Report errors: a revised report within 10 working days, sooner where the finding is urgent.
05
Raising a correction
To raise a correction, email info@eicrmiltonkeynes.co.uk, call 020 3386 1854 or use our contact form. You do not need to use any particular form of words.
